Galaxy Takers: One Shot!

Date: Saturday September 21st

Time: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Cost: $10.00 per person

BYO Character: No. Pregenerated characters will be provided to select from

# of Spots: 6

Experience?: Beginners & seasoned RPG players both welcome! The game is designed to be simple to play & Rachel will guide you along the way as necessary.

SCENARIO BIO

A ragtag group of mercenaries are assembled by AlphaSoft for a mission to the Kaledo system. Things are not exactly right on every world of the system. Shifting tidal forces, illogical orbits, and a bunch of new space stations and colonies popping up in minutes or hours.

Play a jaded magical girl who’s seen too much, a horrifyingly cute creature with checkered past, a brash know-nothing bounty hunter with style, or a imperial princess with nature-tech powers. Will you be able to save the system? Save the galaxy?!

Galaxy Takers is a new roleplaying game The system heavily inspired by anime of the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Tenchi Universe, Outlaw Star, and Space Dandy. The game is light on rules, with clear actions and skills and heavy on improvisation.

------------

WHAT IS GALAXY TAKERS?

Galaxy Takers runs on a custom D6 system created by the very person running it. The game is meant to be lighter and emphasize dialog and spectacle, over strategy. The system is designed with quick combat and quick wit to mimic the madcap antics of the sci-fi anime that inspires the setting!

------------

DM'S BIO

Rachel Reilly is local game designer always tinkering with new projects. She spent 5 years forging her Dungeon Mastering skills in the fires of D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder. Then, she decided to take a different path, seeking out lighter systems to better suit her improvisational and setting heavy style. Rachel's first game, Flipology is being published this year and she's hoping to compile Galaxy Takers into a full roleplaying game!

**Bard & Baker will still be open to the public during this time frame for regular board gaming

COSMIC SONYA'S BIO

"I have always had a love and fascination for all things metaphysical, from as far back as I can remember. Although, having always felt drawn to such things, it wasn’t until I was in my 30’s that I found the time to explore these fascinating topics in greater detail.

After many years of studying things like Tarot, Runes and Numerology and actively participating in local Tarot groups and classes, I decided I would take my abilities out to the public and use them to help guide people find their path in life. It didn’t take me long before I realized I had discovered my passion. I am often found in places with metaphysical sections such as book stores, seminars and festivals. There’s always new things to see and learn in the exciting world of Tarot!

From relationships, to tragedy, to family, and to love, I enjoy supporting people to help find their path to synchronicity and healing. I also spend my free time volunteering for events at various not-for-profits as the Tarot Card Reader. Any situation can bring opportunity and I would love to assist you in finding and realizing them! "

'She's Got Game' Board Game Book Launch Party

Shes Got Game Book Cover.PNG

Join us for a fun night of Catan, cookies, & cocktails as we celebrate the book launch of ‘She’s Got Game,’ a board game themed romance novel by local author, Laura Heffernan!

Laura will be on site selling copies, answering questions, & signing books, along with running a table of Catan for all to enjoy 7:00 PM - close.

BOOK BIO

Travel blogger Gwen Williams is about to live the dream — competing in the annual American Board Game Championship. She’s up against some stiff competition, namely legendary gamer and four-tie champ Cody McKay. The seriously buff hottie and shameless flirt is going all-out to seduce her. That’s when Gwen lays her cards on the table: She never, ever mixes gaming with romance…until resisting Cody becomes a losing proposition.

As Gwen gives in to temptation, everything’s in play for a major heartache. With the rounds heating up and players eliminated, she knows she’s gambling a lot more than a seat at the final table in Vegas. But Cody’s kisses promise more than a fleeting romance. If she plays her cards right, Gwen just might walk off with the championship and the man of her dreams.

AUTHOR BIO

Laura Heffernan is bringing geeky realness to a bookshelf near you. She writes fun, witty romantic comedies featuring intelligent women in unusual situations. The REALITY STAR series and TIME OF MY LIFE are available now. When not watching total strangers get married, drag racing queens, or cooking competitions, Laura enjoys board games, travel, board games, baking, and board games.

Laura once broke up with her now-husband during a board game after realizing that he was ahead 96-3. She hasn't played that particular game since. Her best friend still talks about the Great Uno Card Throwing Incident of 2003. Yet, somehow, Laura insists that she is incredibly gracious whether winning or losing. She lives in the northeast with her husband, new baby, and two furry little beasts.

No cover charge and no reservations. There will be beer, wine, cocktails, as well as plenty of non-alcoholic options available for purchase. Come with a group or come solo, but be sure to bring your A-game!

We run our all day brunch 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM and then switch over to our regular food menu at 5:00 PM for trivia. Be sure to check out our menu page for a full list of our offerings!

Guests are more than welcome to still come hang out and play games as normal, but it will be a trivia environment from 6:00 - 8:00 PM each Sunday.
